It's worth every dollar for the baking alone. Jokes aside: Marmoset's baking is what killed my need for xNormal. xNormal, if you're looking for something free, and you're living in 2007. fine? Substance Painter has one built in that's pretty good. Do other softwares have baking built in? Yep. This is the big one, the big draw of the software. It's really easy to render out lovely looking turntables of models or scenes. Exported from your DCC of choice, or made within the software. You can achieve better results than realtime, but it's not as heavy / slow as a full offline renderer. You can turn the settings above what your GPU can handle realtime. Render out images or videos from the viewport as above. The Toolbag viewport just looks really nice! Preview assets in a quick environment that might look better than your 3D software's viewport. Show off those game-ready assets in realtime, without needing to set them up in your game engine of choice. I love this software, but you don't strictly need it. The software we're talking about here is actually called Toolbag 3, but I too, call it "Marmoset" for ease. Do not make requests for free 3D modeling services.Do not post links to paid models or use this subreddit to advertise your storefront. The point is to have a place where we can help each other out. Links to different articles and videos about 3D modeling are highly encouraged, whether it be a great CGI film or an article or new rendering software.įeel free to post questions or opinions on anything that has to do with 3D modeling. This is a place to show people your 3D models, whether it be 3d studio max, Blender, Maya, Zbrush, Rhino, Alias, any type of 3D models.
